MedRhythms is a leading digital therapeutics company, with a focus on developing and launching FDA-cleared prescription products that improve patient’s mobility. MedRhythms initial product, the MedRhythms Stride uses music, sensors, and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve walking in patents who have had a stroke. The Company’s plans to launch its products through partnerships to provide better outcomes for patients, data and insights for clinicians and partners, and more cost-effective solutions for payers.
MedRhythms plans to launch the Stride in 2019. The Company seeks to hire a Vice President of Business Development to join the management team immediately to add key experience, a track record of strategy, successful deals completion, and stellar relationship skills.
The VP BD will be a strategic thinker with a track record of leading multiple partnership or collaboration deals to close and goal achievement with players in the healthcare space who will drive partnership strategy and execution for the MedRhythms platform. The VP will work closely with the CEO and President and participate in board discussions. Key responsibilities: identify ideal partners, evaluate opportunities, pitch partnerships to targets, and negotiate deals through to closure with large players including providers, payors, and pharma. The VP will be agile, and also able to work with KOLs, advocacy groups and other supporters alongside the CEO to build demand for the product and support partnership strategy.
The initial focus will be on the MedRhythms Stride launch in the post-stroke markets. Additional markets include Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Traumatic Brain Injury and Alzheimer’s Disease.
Position involves heavy travel as well as collaboration with the Portland, Maine based team; VP may work remotely.
Build a comprehensive and integrated commercial strategy for MedRhythms products and services, incorporating strategic and financial analyses
Execute deals end-to-end including pitching, negotiation, and ongoing management
Determine initial entry point in the stroke rehabilitation patient journey to identify where to drive initial prescriptions and buy in from KOLs in post-stroke
Work closely with the other members of the Executive Team team to facilitate successful execution of partnerships and strategic initiatives
Continually refine the G2M based on market feedback to increase the positioning of MedRhythms across prioritized customer segments as laid out by executive team
Experience: At least 5-10 years experience in business development in a complex, healthcare business, including closure of deals and successful collaborations with large partner companies on behalf of smaller companies. Experience in pharma, strategy, or management consulting is valued.
Communications: Ability to communicate well orally, in writing and to present effectively to senior management and boards. Able to build trust, and relationships leading to agreement, especially when representing a small company in a deal with a larger company. Collaborative team player who leads well.
Creativity: Ability to see new opportunities in a rapidly evolving space, identify new partners and deal structures and solve problems leading to successful deal closure and successful commercial partnership relationships. Learning: Ability to own outcomes, learn quickly, and overcome numerous obstacles, to succeed.
